- Dr. Toufic Haidamous is a designer, architect, and sustainability consultant. His research interests focus on the multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary systems in design involving science, technology, and culture. He has taken part in several international and local academic conferences as a speaker and author where he demonstrated his research in the emerging field of Biomimetics across different scales and the input of Building Performance Simulation software on the human comfort. Notably, his paper Rethinking the Role of Design within the Technological Advancements in Biomimetics and SynBio was published in 2017 in The Design Journal; moreover, he has taught several foundation and senior courses in the departments of architecture and interior design at several renowned universities including the Lebanese American University, American University of Science and Technology and The University of the Holy Spirit of Kaslik. He holds a PhD in Design Sciences from the University IUAV of Venice, a Master in Sustainable Architecture from Istituto Europeo di Design, and a Bachelor in Architecture from the Lebanese University. He is a member of the Lebanese Order of Engineers and Architects and was selected to be a member of the International Scientific Committee of the 8th International Conference in Design and Nature 2016- New Forest, UK. Since 2009, he is a LEED Accredited Professional awarded by the US Green Building Council.
